Let it be known – for the record – that I did actually attempt to compete in the July Camp NaNoWriMo event. I did give up. Not out of laziness, but rather pure frustration. The story in question started in April and I stopped it after a few days into July.
At Tallulah‘s request, I’ve decided to continue writing for the rest of Camp NaNoWriMo. Yes, I’ve already finished the story I wanted to, but I do feel as if I have more to write. I must confess that after completing my first ever novel (novella) I’m on a writing high!
Firstly, sorry for the lack of updates (if anyone is reading this?). I’ve been writing my butt off over the past few days. Secondly… It’s finally done. It’s over. It’s complete. I’ve just finished my first novel ever – well, novella – and I am damn proud of myself. The longest thing I’d ever written Read More …
Confession: I didn’t write anything at all yesterday. I know I should have, but I was too engrossed in reading a novel, Vampire Hunter D: Tale of the Dead Town. Reading is research for writing, so it wasn’t a waste at all. Not to mention I really enjoyed the novel.
After a few nights of flu-like symptoms, I’ve caught up again. In all honesty, I was already ahead of my word count, but I’ve wanted to push myself even further. I’m slowly catching up with where I’d like my word count to be, but it’s a long, hard road.
The dreaded “Week Two” is setting in. Tonight, not only did I use Google Docs’s strike-through feature for the first time, but it’s the first time I’ve ever used it in a story. Almost everything I wrote tonight is utter rubbish. I’m forcing myself to erase most of it – some is salvageable – and Read More …
Tonight has been the most difficult writing session thus far. After spending hours furiously swearing at an intermittent internet connection – and not being able to do most of the work I wanted to – I just didn’t have enough energy to give NaNo my all. I once again managed to surpass my daily word Read More …
Today’s writing segments have been a great success. Not only is the plot starting to take shape, but I managed to write 4390 words. That’s the most I’ve ever written for anything. It’s one of the few moments in my life where I’m quite proud of myself.
Today, I aimed to write a lot more, but only reached 2010 words. It’s double what I should be doing per day, but I feel as though I can do more. I’ll see what tomorrow holds.
Success! I’ve not only managed to write double my word count for today, but the chapter I wrote stayed mostly on course. Yes, there were slight deviations here and there but nothing that didn’t add more to the story, or I couldn’t steer back.
