Camp Nano, April 2015: Day 13-16 – Don’t stop me now, AKA I finished!

Firstly, sorry for the lack of updates (if anyone is reading this?). I’ve been writing my butt off over the past few days.

Secondly… It’s finally done. It’s over. It’s complete. I’ve just finished my first novel ever – well, novella – and I am damn proud of myself. The longest thing I’d ever written before this hit around the 5000 mark, but Skinless is just over 30 000 glorious unpolished and ragged words. It’s been one hell of a journey, and I’ve enjoyed it every step of the way. Yes, I’m fourteen days ahead of schedule.

This evening’s session was quite intense. I was determined to round off the story, but my antagonist refused to let me do that. He had to get in a few final words and completely derail my epilogue. It was for the better, and I realised I created a villain far more devious than originally intended.

So what happens now? It’s a good question, and thankfully I’m prepared. My completed (first draft) story will be put away for a month. I’ll be looking at it again in a month’s time or so with fresh eyes. For now, there’s nothing more I can do with it. As for the rest of NaNo, I still have a lot of writing energy within me. I’ll either be tackling another original story or my hand at some Fanfic (Fan Fiction). I’m contemplating something set within the realms of Silent Hill, but I’ll think about that tomorrow.

On a side note, I’ll be using Grammarly for most of my grammar support during this event.
