Camp Nano, April 2015: Day 3 – I did it my way

Success! I’ve not only managed to write double my word count for today, but the chapter I wrote stayed mostly on course. Yes, there were slight deviations here and there but nothing that didn’t add more to the story, or I couldn’t steer back.

I’m enjoying Camp NaNoWriMo a lot more than standard NaNo. The biggest reason is the word sprints. It’s something I tried in the past, but I much prefer writing at my own pace. It not only allows me to keep interested in my own story (without the need to beat someone else’s word count), but I’m not the fastest typist. Most of my typing consists of four fingers instead of all ten and my hands seem to be hurting a lot more of late.

It’s only been three days, but I’ve already written over 17% of my novel, which is fantastic. I can only hope I keep up the pace next week as well. The novel will require a tonne of editing as I’m only writing down core actions and dialogue. Tthe more descriptive parts will come later.

Hey, it may be the first time I actually finish writing a novel. I’m writing it my way.

On a side note, I’ll be using Grammarly for most of my grammar support during this event.
