[Books] On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft by Stephen King

Last year, I received On Writing: A Memoir of the Craft for Christmas, but haven’t had a chance to sit with it. I picked it up a few nights ago, and I’m struggling to put it down – so much so I’d skip work to carry on reading it.

On Writing is a non-fiction book consisting of somewhat auto-biographical elements and writing tips from Stephen King. He tells of his childhood, growing up in Maine, his addiction to drugs & alcohol, the passing of his mother, and when Carrie was picked up by a publisher. I’m around 112 pages in so I cannot say more than that.

I have a general rule of thumb for books: If it does get me to page 100 then it’s not going to be finished. On Writing got me there, and in record time. I cannot wait to finish this and give it a good review.
